We think that we have to do a much better job protecting children from abuse and call for funding for a system where trained healthcare workers visit every family on a regular short or non-notice basis to examine the children for signs of physical, sexual or emotional abuse, or neglect.
We believe that we need a funded system where healthcare professional visit every home in the on a regular (for example monthly) basis to be able to examine children for specific signs but also see how the children live/ judge potential abuse. These visits should be unannounced or conducted after short notice, and the family should be legally obliged to grant the healthcare worker access to their home and to examine their children.
