We call on Government to help public safety within the NTE by mandating police training on SIA guidelines & customer service, strengthening communication with venues, staff & door supervisors, & increasing policing & visible presence. We believe this will reduce violence and make nights out safer.

Requested actions: • Mandate SIA training for police on door supervisors, licensed premises & operations to boost collaboration/enforcement. • Provide customer service & de-escalation training for effective engagement in night-time situations. • Establish formal protocols for communication, support & rapid response between police, venues & SIA door staff. • Increase proactive policing & visible presence in night-time hotspots during peak hours to deter crime
