We ask the Government to make Drama a mandatory subject within the National Curriculum for all pupils in Key Stage 3 in England, and provide appropriate curriculum time, guidance, and support for its delivery.
We believe Drama develops essential life skills including communication, confidence, creativity, empathy, critical thinking and collaboration. These skills can support success across education, employment and everyday life. We feel access to Drama is currently inconsistent across schools, limiting opportunities for many students, particularly those from lower-income backgrounds.
