Review and legislate all marketplace apps & websites to implement stronger child protection requirements, including mandatory identity verification for sellers and buyers, improved reporting systems, and stronger child exploitation monitoring & cooperation with the police to combat safety concerns.

Many people are concerned that online marketplace apps and websites could be misused by people who seek to exploit children. We believe stronger safeguards are needed to help prevent abuse, protect children and families, and ensure these platforms have robust systems for detecting and responding to suspicious activity. We ask the Government to review existing regulations and legislate to introduce stronger child protection requirements for online marketplace apps and websites.
