The Government needs to do more so that councils receive additional funding to help them fully serve their communities. We think there are many ways to do this, including: implement council surcharges on existing taxes, expand second home premiums or stop the super-rich from dodging their taxes.

We believe the state of England's councils is perhaps the most appalling political horror story our nation has to offer. We feel that our councils are drowning in absurd debt for merely providing their people with basic necessities - this is unacceptable, and we must fight for change and justice. We can debate the means by which we achieve this extra funding, but what cannot debate the absolute urgency of the need for more funding. We believe our councils deserve more money.
