We want the Government to ban the manufacture, import, and sale of all consumer products containing PFAS ('forever chemicals'). We believe the UK needs to catch up with generally stricter EU restrictions to protect our rivers and citizens.
PFAS are indestructible "forever chemicals" that bioaccumulate in our bodies and ecosystems. When used in consumer goods like waterproof clothing, they wash into UK waterways, permanently polluting our drinking water and food chains. There is considerable evidence that exposure to PFAS is linked to severe health risks, including cancer, liver damage, fertility issues, and immune suppression. To protect our citizens and dying rivers, we believe the UK must ban these toxic chemicals entirely.
