We believe our Councils are failing our most vulnerable children 1-to-4-year-olds with developmental delays because the council's SEND support "umbrella" rarely kicks in until primary school. We want the Government to ensure there is funded provision for early yeas SEND children.
We believe that funding shortages have left early-years provision in crisis. Children without a formal diagnosis can face a chaotic maze, while overstretched nurseries are sometimes left drowning without the council funding needed to hire extra staff. We need Immediate funding for nursery staff to be made available by the Government through councils, along with clear healthcare pathways for undiagnosed children & fast-tracked early-years EHCPs.
