Fund and offer cancer awareness training to all professional carers and carers of family/friends of those with autism/learning disability. Carers need to be trained to teach their cared for different cancer checks but also how to look for signs and symptoms of cancer in those they care for.

We think this could help ensure cancers are picked up ASAP to reduce rates of mortality. People with autism/learning disabilities would benefit from correct knowledge and support from their carers to pick up on cancer symptoms, get diagnosed earlier, and access treatment earlier in order to survive. If carers don't have the training, how can they pass it onto their cared for? This training needs to be offered to all.
