In the UK there is an experimental treatment using stem cells derived from autologous fat grafting and platelet rich plasma therapy. It is being trialled for people suffering with the debilitating condition of lichen sclerosus which is an inflammatory condition that mainly affects the genital skin.

The programme, known as PETALS for women and PEARLS for adolescent girls is available on the NHS. But for men there is no such trialling for funding reasons and because there are more women with the condition. Reports indicate that this treatment has so far seen some amazing results. As men with the condition are entirely excluded, I would like the Government to fund an extension of the trial to men also who are also at risk of cancer and the destruction of their genital tissues.
