British Transport Police data, as recently reported by Nation.Cymru, show that more than a third of women are likely to be assaulted during their commute. That is why I'm asking the Government to ensure that each train has a proportion of women-only carriages.

This is done in areas like Japan where up to 2/3s of women used to be groped on trains, which rate, after women-only cars were introduced, has reportedly dopped by c3% per year since then. We believe this shows that this clearly does work, along with raised awareness on this matter, and , in our view, will lead to an overall drop in sexual assaults in trains, and hopefully a collective consensus that further pushes sexual harassment against women on our streets in general.
