Milestones

Review and amend the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) to introduce clear national standards for protecting Green Belt, Grey Belt and National Landscapes. Require brownfield land, urban densification, infrastructure and Green Infrastructure to be assessed before protected land is allocated.

We support the Government's ambition to build needed homes and believe the NPPF should set clear national standards before Green Belt, Grey Belt or National Landscapes are considered for development. Planning decisions should be transparent and evidence-based. Brownfield land, regeneration, densification, infrastructure and Green Infrastructure should be assessed before protected land is released. This would improve public confidence, support sustainable housing and protect England's landscapes.
