We call the Government to fund the purchase of empty houses across the country, and partnerships with local colleges to train tradesmen in converting properties back into use. This could provide relevant training & employment, create affordable rental properties and over time, become self-funding.

This funding policy could help train a new generation of tradesmen. It could provide affordable social housing more quickly and cheaply than building new properties, and once completed and rented out, the original investment could be paid back overtime. If the Government were to fund partnerships with local colleges, it could benefit everyone involved. We feel the original outlay is the drawback, but it would be an investment worth making for the future.
