Stop the introduction of the commercial use of driverless taxis and other driverless passenger transport services, and protect the livelihoods of over 400,000 licensed private hire and Hackney carriage drivers by preventing their replacement with autonomous vehicles.
Driverless cars could threaten the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of licensed private hire and Hackney carriage drivers. We believe the Government should prioritise protecting jobs and ensuring public safety before allowing commercial autonomous taxi services. We want the Government to prohibit the commercial operation of fully driverless passenger transport services and prevent operator licences being issued for these services.
