Milestones

Reform the Education Inspection Framework so that schools are assessed by individual pupil progress, inclusive practice and quality of education, not primarily overall attainment and aggregated performance data.

Schools should be judged fairly, recognising that some pupils with SEND or complex needs may not reach the same attainment levels or be able to access standard assessments. We believe the current inspection framework should place greater emphasis on individual pupil progress, quality of teaching and inclusive practice, so inspections better reflect the work schools do to help every child achieve their potential.
