We want the Government to increase sentences for child sex offences, prohibit all sentence reductions for guilty pleas for these offences, and introduce stronger restrictions on where convicted offenders can live after release to better protect children.
Child sexual abuse causes lifelong harm to victims and their families. We believe current sentences often fail to reflect the seriousness of these crimes. We believe offenders should not receive reduced sentences simply for pleading guilty, and that stronger restrictions on where they can live after release would help protect children and increase public confidence in the justice system.
