We call on the Government to review animal welfare legislation to strengthen animal welfare protections and standards for horses, and to strengthen accountability mechanisms for those who mistreat horses. We believe horses are intelligent, sensitive animals that deserve kindness, care, and respect.

We believe stronger action is needed to improve horse welfare. Every horse should have access to safe and secure shelter that protects them from extreme weather, clean water, nutritious food, regular veterinary care, and enough time to rest and exercise. We believe they should also be treated by kind, responsible owners who understand their needs and never use cruelty, fear, or neglect. By launching a review, we could help ensure that every horse has safe shelter, caring owners, and the kindness and respect they deserve.
