Milestones

Create a new permanent residence visa with no access to benefits for existing skilled workers as a transitional arrangement under the earned settlement scheme.

In our view government plans to change settlement rules leave current Skilled Worker visa holders in crisis. These workers moved here trusting the government. Because they cannot go back in time to alter past choices, wages, or contracts, applying new rules to them mid-way is unfair. We therefore call on the Government to create a new permanent residence visa with no access to benefits for existing skilled workers as a transitional arrangement under earned settlement scheme.
