As a resident of the United Kingdom, I am deeply concerned about the rising costs of social care, health and other public services. One potential solution that I propose is the introduction of a £20,000 fee for individuals who wish to obtain indefinite leave to remain (ILR) or a British passport.

I propose the introduction of a £20,000 fee for individuals who wish to obtain ILR or a British passport. If immigrants want a British passport, which automatically gives them the right to the UK benefit system which in my view is suffering, I’m sure they will pay the £20,000 fee. I don’t think immigrants should automatically be eligible to become British after for example 5 years of residency, and I think getting a British passport or ILR should be a privilege.
