Implement lifetime animal ownership bans for anyone guilty of animal cruelty offences and require them to pay a £10,000 fine to fund animal rescue organisations. We believe too many animals are being dumped because of boredom or illness, and that rescues can’t cope with the demand and costs.
Animal cruelty is a serious ongoing concern for all rescue organisations. Many do not have enough funding and solely rely on public donations. With recent cost of living increases, we are concerned it will put greater pressure on the people working there and severely impact their mental health. We want stricter rules enforced and big fines imposed to help poor, defenceless animals and support the people who are saving them.
